BHARATBILL

HUNGRY MINDS operates the https://www.bharatbill.online website, which provides the SERVICE.

This page is used to inform website visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service, the bharatbill.online website.

If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation with this policy. The Personal Information that we collect are used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which is accessible at https://www.bharatbill.online, unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

For a better experience while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to your name, phone number, and postal address. The information that we collect will be used to contact or identify you.

Log Data

We want to inform you that whenever you visit our Service, we collect information that your browser sends to us that is called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser version, pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics.

Cookies

Cookies are files with small amount of data that is commonly used an anonymous unique identifier. These are sent to your browser from the website that you visit and are stored on your computer's hard drive.

Our website uses these "cookies" to collection information and to improve our Service. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies, and know when a cookie is being sent to your computer. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.

Google Analytics

Our public pages (the home page, articles and guides, sign-in and registration) use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to help us understand how visitors find and use the website. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the website that referred you, your device and browser type, and your approximate location.

We also record two events: when an account is created, and when a subscription is purchased (the plan and the amount paid). We do not send your name, email address, phone number or any other information that identifies you to Google Analytics.

The pages inside your account, including your invoices, customers, suppliers and books of account, do not use Google Analytics.

Google handles this information under its own privacy policy, at https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can stop Google Analytics from collecting information about your visits by blocking cookies in your browser, or by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on from https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

POS Billing (the shop counter)

If you use POS Billing, your account also holds what you enter at the counter: the names and mobile numbers of your customers, what they bought and what they owe, photos of your products, and the names of your counter staff. This information belongs to your business. We store it to provide the Service to you, we show it only inside your account, and we do not use it to contact your customers.

When you send a bill to a customer on WhatsApp, the message is sent from your own WhatsApp; we do not send messages ourselves, and WhatsApp handles the message under its own privacy policy. The message carries a link to the bill. The link contains a long random code and works without signing in, so anyone who has the link can view and download that bill. These bill pages do not use Google Analytics and are marked so that search engines do not list them. We record how many times a link was opened and when it was last opened. A cancelled bill is shown as cancelled.

In a medical shop, a bill for a prescription drug also holds the name of the patient and of the doctor who prescribed it, and their addresses and the doctor's registration number where the shop enters them. They are printed on that bill and shown to anyone who opens its link.

A UPI QR code at the counter contains your UPI ID and the bill amount. The payment itself takes place in your customer's UPI app and your bank; we do not receive or store their payment details.

Staff PINs are stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form, so we cannot read them. When you lock a tablet or computer to the counter, we place a cookie on that device so that it stays locked to your counter; it stops working when you unlock the device or remove it in Counter settings. When the camera is used to scan a barcode, the picture is read on the device and is not sent to us; a product photo you take is uploaded and stored with the item.

Free invoice maker on the home page

When you press Generate PDF on the home page, we keep a copy of the invoice you made: the sender's and recipient's names, addresses, email addresses and phone numbers, the items and amounts, and any terms you added. We also record the date and time, the page you were on, your IP address and your browser type. We use this to understand how the free invoice maker is used, and we may contact the sender about BharatBill. None of it is sent to Google Analytics. To have a copy deleted, contact us.

WhatsApp messages from BharatBill

If you have agreed to hear from us on WhatsApp, we may send you messages about BharatBill, such as offers and new features, from our WhatsApp Business number. These are sent through the WhatsApp Business Platform provided by Meta, which handles them under its own privacy policy. For each message we keep your mobile number, your name if you gave it, and whether the message was sent, delivered and read. Reply STOP to any such message and we will not message that number again; you can also turn these messages on or off on your Profile page. If you write to our WhatsApp number, for example from the "Chat on WhatsApp" button on this site, we keep your messages and our answers for 12 months so that we can help you. Photos and documents you send stay with Meta, which keeps them for about 30 days. This is separate from the bills a shop sends from its own WhatsApp, described above.

Deleting your data

You can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you. How to ask, what is deleted and how long it takes are set out at https://www.bharatbill.online/data-deletion.

We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
